OMG MARTE UML working group finalizing MARTE standard.

The Object Management Group (OMG) MARTE UML working group is finalizing the MARTE (Modeling and Analysis of Real-time and Embedded systems) standard for use with Real-Time UML tools such as IBM Rational Rhapsody and Tri-Pacific Software's RapidRMA real-time analysis tool suite. This specification of a UML® profile adds capabilities to UML for model-driven development of Real Time and Embedded Systems (RTES). This extension, called the UML profile for MARTE (in short MARTE), provides support for specification, design, and verification/validation stages. This new profile is intended to replace the existing UML Profile for Schedulability, Performance and Time (formal/03-09-01). Watch Ron Fredericks lecture on “Designing Predictable Real-Time Systems” presented at the 2005 Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco. Ron discusses real-time systems development and how Rate Monotonic Analysis (RMA) improves the development process. He describes how Tri-Pacific Software UML tools bring RMA into the standard development process and make RMA analyses even easier.

Mark Gerhardt now consulting with Tri-Pacific Software.

Mark Gerhardt is assisting Tri-Pacific Software with developing OMG standards for a new Profile for Schedulability and Time (OMG, ProMARTE working group). Additional work he is doing for Tri-Pacific Software includes consulting on Army contracts and teaching classes.

Tri-Pacific works with OMG on new Profile for Schedulability and Time.

Tri-Pacific resumes its collaboration with OMG and is participating in the work for a new Profile for Schedulability and Time. It is adding Schedulability Analysis to the Profile. The working group in OMG is ProMARTE and includes IBM Rational, ILogix, Artisan, Telelogic, Thales, INRIA as well as Tri-Pacific.
