A long awaited natural extension to CORBA is Real-Time CORBA. The goal of Real-Time CORBA is to support end-to-end predictability.
In our class we will explain what a “Schedulable Entity” actually is and how priorities are propagated in a CORBA real-time distributed object oriented computing environment.
Subsequently, we will describe and analyze the Real-Time CORBA tools made available to the real-time application developer in the form of OMG specified policy choices so that unbounded priority inversion and method invocation blocking are avoided.
Finally, we will present and illustrate the associated interfaces and usage policies of the Real-Time CORBA Scheduling Service.
